My life hasn’t always been one of success, personal accomplishment and freedom.
To be honest, it has been a rough road.
When I was two years old, my mother decided that it would be better for someone else to raise me.
I was caught in gunfire and shot in the thigh at the age of 9.
By the time I was 12, I was told that the little boy and girl who I had been playing with next door for the past year were actually my younger brother and sister.
Yes! That’s right, my brother AND sister moved next door to me.
Fast forward, my 14 year marriage to a pastor ended in divorce, I wound up in a
1 year battle for my children, I lost my home and was under a 72-hour hold for possible suicide.
I left my well paying corporate Human Resources job because I couldn’t focus and decided I needed a break.
Boy, had I hit rock bottom!
Then, my life took a drastic turn – for the better. I began to hear words like destiny, purpose, empowerment and the ultimate was when I read and took to heart Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
I started understanding and realizing that my life had purpose and meaning. I finally embraced that I was destined for more, for higher and for greater. So I started to believe, to think, to say and to do everything that was helping me to reach that place.
Then the shift occurred.
I knew there was so much for me to do, to see and experience that was going to take me to the next level of my life. So I took action. Stopped having a pity party. Tossed out the negative talk and trashed the mind trash.
After a 10 year journey that included anger, bitterness, frustration, depression and discouragement, I then learned about joy, love and peace and my life began to reflect what I had learned. What had taken place on the inside was now showing on the outside.
I married an incredible man who supports my dreams, became an Amazon Bestselling author, published two compilation book projects and started my multi-faceted business that has the global mission of mentoring women who are making a difference in the world.
So…that’s my story – the extremely abbreviated version. And in spite of every trial, every failure and every challenge, I would take nothing for my journey. Without this journey I would not be the woman I am if I had not endured what I endured and overcame what I overcame to become who I was designed to become.
